A list of historic photos of the Mt Albert shopping centre (around the intersection of New North Road, Mt Albert Rd and Carrington Rd).
Many of these are from the Whites Aviation collection held at the National Library of New Zealand. It is necessary to zoom in on part of these images to see the shops. (for example, the detail on the left is from a photo taken in 1961). Medium resolution copies of these photos are available on the NLNZ website, and high resolution copies may be ordered from them at no cost.
We have not yet finished adding all the photos that we know of – there are many more good ones to come (June 2026).
Note that some other photos exist where the shops are not clear, and these have been omitted.
