NAME:
This street runs through a subdivision created by Elizabeth McDonald, on land she inherited from her father, Elihu Shaw. It is named after Elizabeth’s sister, Martha (1844-1926) and her husband Charles Collins (1844-1902).
Auckland Libraries incorrectly says that Collins St was probably named after friends of the Shaw family (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
DESCRIPTION:
Collins St is a short street that runs between Shaw St and Ethel St.
On the east side of the road lies number 5. On the west side lie numbers 2 to 12
