Nurse Leone (or Leoni) Adean qualified as a midwife in 1916 when she was 25. By 1922 she and her husband had moved to Mt Albert and she was practicing there. As well as assisting with home deliveries, she offered maternity care at two Mt Albert addresses until 1930, when she and her husband left Auckland to move to Waipawa.
