NAME:
Gordon Rd was possibly named after the child of a resident (Davenport, 1990, p.87).
Part of Gordon Rd was amalgamated into Morningside Drive.
DESCRIPTION:
The north end of Gordon Rd is a cul de sac. It crosses Taylors Rd. Argyle St runs off it. To the south of Argyle St it is a cul de sac, ending at Sainsbury Reserve.
On the west side lie numbers 1 to 25. On the east side lie numbers 2 to 8.
FACTS ABOUT THIS STREET:
1910: Created in a subdivision by landowner John William Dadson.
1937: “described as 40 chains long, with 54 residences and one of the early streets in the area. Part now Morningside Drive” (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
