Hampstead Rd was earlier known as Coronation Rd (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
Hampstead Rd was named after a London suburb (Davenport, 1990, p.94).
Hampstead Rd is a cul de sac that runs north west from Euston Rd. At its west end it becomes an entrance to the Mt Albert Research Centre.
On the north side of the road lie numbers 1 to 9 (or 23?). On the south side lie numbers 2 to 10.
