Wesley Ave

NAME:

Wesley Ave is probably named after John Wesley (1707-1788), founder of the Methodist Church (Auckland Libraries, n.d.; Davenport, 1990, p.247).

DESCRIPTION:

Wesley Ave runs north west from Asquith Ave. Caughey Place continues it.

Numbers 1 to 11 lie on the north east side of the road. Numbers 2 to 10 lie on the south west side.

FACTS ABOUT THIS STREET:

1937: “described as  6 chains long, with 6 residences” (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
