NAME:
Bennett St was known as Albert St until 1938, when many streets in Mt Albert were renamed. It was one of ten Albert Streets in Auckland (Davenport, 1990, p.31).
It was named after A.F. Bennett, Mayor of Mt Albert Borough (1921-1923) (Davenport, 1990, p.31).
DESCRIPTION:
Bennett Street runs between New North Rd and Kitenui Ave.
Violet St runs off it to the south west.
On the south west side run numbers 1A to 9. On the north east side run numbers 2 to 8.
