NAME:

King Edward St was named after the English King.

DESCRIPTION:

King Edward St runs west from Dominion Rd, then turns south and runs to Cambourne Rd.

The western half of King Edward St, from #44/47, is in Mt Albert.

Paice Ave, Gribblehirst Rd and Parrish Rd bisect King Edward St.

On the north and west side of the street, numbers run from 47 to 89. On the south and east side, numbers run from 44 to 88.

FACTS ABOUT THIS STREET:

1937: “described as 1/2 mile long, with 1 business premises and 81 residences, and named 25 years before (1912)” (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
