New Bond St

NAME:

The origin of the name New Bond St is not recorded by Auckland Libraries or Davenport.

DESCRIPTION:

New Bond St is a no-exit street runs north west from New North Rd.

On the north east side, numbers run from 1 to 29. On the south west side, numbers run from 2 to 24.

FACTS ABOUT THIS STREET:

1907 (approx): New Bond St created as an extension of Bond St. This linked Great North Rd and New North Rd (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).

1970 (approx): Northwestern Motorway put through. Bond St now links Great North Rd and New North Rd. New Bond St lies further to the east and is now separate.
