Taumata means “brow of a hill” or “resting place on a hill” (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
This was the name of an estate subdivided in 1909 (Davenport, 1990, p.221).
Taumata Rd runs north west from Sandringham Rd. Watea Rd and Fowlds Ave run off it. Euston Rd bisects it. To the west of Euston Rd is a cul de sac. The end curls back towards the north east.
Numbers 1 to 117 lie on the north east side of the road. Numbers 2 to 116 lie on the south west side of the road.
