NAME:
Fowlds Ave was named after Sir George Fowlds, a local Member of Parliament (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
DESCRIPTION:
Fowlds Ave runs south west from St Lukes Rd to Taumata Rd.
Locarno Ave, Shorwell St, Fergusson Ave, Hazelmere Rd, Coyle St, Hulse Ave and Kitchener Rd run off it. Haverstock Rd bisects it.
Numbers 1 to 123 lie on the north west side of the road. Numbers 2 to 106 lie on the south east side of the road.
FACTS ABOUT THIS STREET:
1937: “described as 60 chains long, with 1 business premises and 80 residences” (Auckland Libraries, n.d.).
