Tranmere Rd

NAME:

It is possible that Tranmere Rd was named after an early sailing vessel (Auckland Libraries, n.d.). It was a brig working on the Manukau Harbour from at least 1829: one of the earliest coastal traders. The master was Captain John R. Kent (Davenport, 1990, p.230.

DESCRIPTION:

Tranmere Rd runs east from Sandringham Rd. Arabi St crosses it. Beyond Arabi St it is a cul de sac.

Numbers 1 to 43 lie on the south side of the road. Numbers 2 to 46 lie on the north side.
