NAME:
Mt Albert Rd is named after the maunga and the suburb.
At one time part of Carrington Rd to the Mt Albert shops was known as Mt Albert Rd West, while the present day Mt Albert Rd was known as Mt Albert Rd East.
Part was known as Three Kings Rd. Further investigation is needed to identify where this boundary was.
This was also known as the Onehunga-Mt Albert Rd.
DESCRIPTION:
Mt Albert Rd runs south east from New North Rd to the Royal Oak roundabout (intersection with Manukau Rd, Campbell Rd and Mt Smart Rd).
Only the western half of Mt Albert Rd is in Mt Albert – on the northern side to #328 (Jyotis Dairy) just east of Renfrew Ave. On the southern side of the road, Mt Albert terminates at the Owairaka Ave intersection.
Allendalle Rd bisects it; Ranleigh Rd, Ferner Ave, Kitenui Ave, Summit Dr, Alberton Ave, Toroa Tce, Kerr Taylor Ave , Mt Royal Ave, Highland Rd, Owairaka Ave, Euston Rd and Duncan Ave run off it. Sandringham Rd bisects it; Columbia Rd, Huntingtree Ave, Kiwitea St and Renfrew Ave run off it.
On the south west side, numbers run from 1 to 179. On the north east side, numbers run from 2 to 328.
